Analyzing an Issue or Event in Wellness Through the Lenses of History and the Humanities
Should be 2-4 pages (not counting cover page and references) APA format.

You’ll also be working on Milestone Two of your final project this week. Here, you’ll expand on the initial research you did for your topic through the history and humanities lenses. If you look back to the milestone 1 rubric comments that I left you, I provided some ideas in many cases. If you feel stuck, reach out…
1. You’ll need three well-developed paragraphs for history and at least three well-developed paragraphs for humanities.
2. There should be at least 2 different scholarly sources for history and at least two different scholarly sources used for the humanities. Remember, all facts should be cited and referenced.
3. Total page length for these two lenses should be between 2-4 pages, not counting cover page and references.
4. Use the rubric questions to guide your research.
5. Do not write a full paragraph explaining what the lens is and why it can be used for your topic. You will get zero credit for this because that info belongs in the intro you wrote back in milestone one. Here, you need to make your paragraphs about research via this lens and a short analysis, based on the rubric directions.
History: How does this issue/event interact with the history lens and impact social issues? Social issues are not related to socializing but are issues that impact society. In what ways does the history lens help articulate a deeper understanding of the social issue(s) that inform your issue/event?

Humanities: How is this issue/event portrayed creatively in society? In other words, where do we see it in the arts, in photography, magazines, social media, movies, tv, memes, cartoons, video games, contemporary art, dance, music, etc. What is the message or commentary that these sources are providing to our culture? Finally, don’t forget to discuss how this representation through media/arts interacts with you in your personal and professional lives. Remember, if you’re discussing culture, it’s probably social sciences NOT humanities. Humanities must include how the topic is creatively expressed in culture (tv shows, cartoons, music etc). Humanities are about how a society creatively expresses their beliefs.
