Introduction: What is Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) and why is it important to study child development. How does this position paper approach this topic? Describe the areas of child development and learning to include: 1) physical, 2) cognitive, 3) social 4) emotional, 5) language. Use sub headers for each of the areas of child development. Supportive Interactions with Children: Relationships and positive interactions serve as the foundation for work with young children. Describe why positive relationships are important and provide examples of supportive interactions. Families and Communities: How does DAP support involving families and communities in childrens learning and development? Describe how teachers can promote respectful, reciprocal relationships with families? Paper Requirements: Approximately 4-5 pages (not including Title page, and References) APA style (Abstract is not required): Students are required to utilize APA formatting for all assignments. Points will be deducted for assignments that do not follow APA style and other written communication errors.
