In this class, you will propose an appropriate historical research project after some preliminary
investigation into primary sources.
Once you have settled on a topic, you will work on
understanding the secondary sources relating to your topic. The final product will be a
professional 20-page essay that you can use for future writing samples, that you can point to as
evidence of your mastery of historical techniques, or that you can simply shelve and show off to
friends and family.
