Use MLA format i.e., on the first page of your paper write your name, the last name of your professor, the course name and number, the date you wrote the essay all on the top left corner of your paper (see Field Guide to Writing p. 588). On the right corner, write your last name and the page number. Write the title of your essay at the center of the page.
You must use double- space, 12 fonts, Times New Roman throughout the paper.
For college classroom essays, the minimum number of paragraphs should be five, and each paragraph should have at least five sentences.
The use of transition (and, but yet, however, therefore, in addition, etc.) words and phrases is a must in each paragraph.
If you refer any printed or online sources, you must do a Works Cited page as shown in Field Guide to Writing p.595 and in The Little Seagull Handbook p. 168.

Choose a current controversial issue, one that is recently social problem in our society(like: why prisons are overcrowded in your city, why many students drop out from college, can gay couple adopt children, do we need another round of shut down in the whole of US, etc.) and write a minimum of 3 pages.
