The final draft of Essay #3 Your first draft must be completed with enough time for you to submit the essay to Brainfuse, wait 24 hours to receive feedback, and revise the essay before the due date. You will email me a copy of your first draft of the essay along with the comments for revision from Brainfuse. You will upload your final draft of the essay using the upload tool in the Module 3: Week 9 folder on Blackboard.

The final draft of the essay should be a minimum of 750 words (about three typed pages), double-spaced, using a twelve-point font and one-inch margins around the page. Be sure to give your essay a title. Also, type your name, Essay 3, and the date in the top, right-hand corner of the paper. Only essays submitted on will be considered on time, and NO late papers will be accepted unless you have made specific arrangements with me before the essay due date.

After reading the assigned selectionthe text you will be analyzing– in the Module 3 folder, write an interpretive-analytical paper of at least 750 words. Underline your thesis statement. The essay must demonstrate critical thinking and be written coherently, observing grammatical, mechanical, and stylistic conventions. Your paper must include at least one paragraph on each of the following:

Introduction
Mention the author and title of the essay you are evaluating as well as a thesis which indicates whether you found the writer effective in achieving their purpose.
Summary
Mention the author and the title of the essay, and then provide a brief summary of the authors key points. Include an interpretation of the authors main point, which may be presented either directly or indirectly in the authors work.
Analysis
This paragraph needs to include a discussion of the authors rhetorical purpose (aim) and methods of organization (patterns). Some examples of purpose are expressive, referential (informative, interpretive), persuasive, and literary. Some examples of methods of organization include description, narration, cause and effect, classification, comparison-contrast, and illustration. It should also offer details on the types of evidence the writer uses to support their thesis.
Evaluation
Applying established criteria for what constitutes a successful expressive, referential, persuasive, or literary essay, discuss 2-3 specific ways in which this essay is or is not successful. Also discuss whether the chosen methods of organization are effective or not and why.
Conclusion
Wrap up your essay and leave your reader with a sense of closure.
