Instructions: After planning out your research article, you’re ready to write. Your research article should include the following components. Be sure to also review the attached rubric for details of each criteria. I will attach our designed experiment as well as the results and discussion that I wrote (the results section definitely needs to be improved but you are able to gather the gist of what we’re going for with the green light). -Title: Is the title of the article self-explanatory, clear, and concise? -Scientific Article Structure: Is the article written in the format of a scientific journal article, using clearly designated sections (i.e. Introduction, Methods, etc.)? -Introduction/Research Question: Is the research question clearly presented and biological relevance evident? Must include at least 2 peer reviewed sources. -Methods: Is the design of the investigation summarized clearly? -Results: Are data summarized in 1) text form as well as in 2) the tables and figures that are appropriate to the type of data collected? -Discussion: Are logical interpretations of the data presented and supported by at least 2 original peer-reviewed research articles? -Conclusion: What conclusions are drawn from the investigations and are these conclusions justified via original peer-reviewed research articles? -Citations: Are all sources properly cited within the text (in appropriate sections) and in a ‘Reference’ section? You should have a total of at least 4 different peer reviewed articles. -Scientific Writing: When addressing the bulleted points above, are your responses incorporated smoothly within the narrative of your article or are you simply restating the questions in an answer format?
