I need a personal statement for social work graduate school application. I want to be a social worker because as a child I was abused and neglected. I was placed in foster care as a teenager and subsequently aged out of care. I did not graduate high school and married at 17. I had 3 children with a domesticly violent husband. After getting the courage to leave I went back to school and got my GED. I then worked full time, raised 3 children and put myself through college graduating with honors. For the las 4 years I have been a CPS investigative caseworker for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. I want to further my education because the system is flawed and I unable to make systematic change with out additional education.
