PEER REVIEW GUIDELINES
Before you do each peer review, you should read the essay completely and thoroughly. Remember that you are not editing the essay for grammar and spellings. You are reviewing the content to provide feedback. Your assignment as a peer reviewer is to assess the efficacy of the essay as a researched argument.
The below rubric will help you complete the peer reviews. Please dont simply answer yes/no to the list of questions provided. The questions are meant to serve as a spark for your critical reading of the peer essay.
PEER REVIEW RUBRIC
Content/Development
Does the introduction provide a clear thesis that is precise, relevant to a chosen primary text, and debatable?
Does the paper use credible research sources, including peer review articles?
Does the conclusion flow from a cohesive and well-supported argument?
Has the writer properly acknowledged sources by use of in-text citation?
Does the works-cited page contain at least eight secondary sources, and does the documentation adhere to MLA protocol?
Coherence/Arrangement/Clarity
Are the writers ideas presented in a logical way that guides readers through a consistent argument, paragraph by paragraph?

Do individual paragraphs seem arranged in a meaningful, coherent sequence?
