Discuss the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the whole world to make unprecedented changes. It
is fitting that your final exam considers the reality that we live in. Your assignment is as
follows:
Use a search engine to find articles on the Internet about COVID and ETHICS. There are,
as you might suspect, a large number of them. Those search terms will work well, but you
can search more widely to look for things like CORONAVIRUS, MEDICAL ETHICS, or
key terms from the semester. The sites should be serious, but they dont have to be
academic or professional sites. The various chapters in the textbook can give you a sense
of what topics (e.g., the right to refuse treatment, research ethics, and resource allocation)
might be worth considering.
Locate six distinct questions about COVID-19 and medical ethics. Its certainly
possible to find a single source for all six questions, but I want to you find six questions
from six different sources.
Write up the six questions in the following format:
a. Website (offer the complete URL)
b. Explain who is posing the question (if identified)
c. Spell out the question as clearly as possible.
For example, something like confidentiality and COVID is really vague and it
isnt even a question. Address instead a specific question about how this pandemic
raises issues of confidentiality.
d. Explain the question in detail based on what youve read. Why is it being raised?
e. Explain how the question is new; that is, why does the current pandemic give us
an unfamiliar problem here?
f. Explain how the question is old; that is, how does this resemble ethical problems
of the past?
It will probably take three or more pages to do all of the things Im asking for.
