All-Star Artist Sales Pitch Project (Individual)
A wealthy art collector is opening a new museum in town. He is looking to fill it with the most unique, interesting, or important art he can find. To stand out from the crowd, the new museum is going to focus on only one style (known as a school) of art, but they have not yet settled on which style best reflects the collectors passion for art and artists. This is the opportunity you have been waiting for! As an up and coming Artist Agent, your clients belong in this museum. It is up to you to prove which style of art deserves the spotlight in this exciting new collection. It is time to break out your top superstar artists and sell the dream!
The museum has asked that each Art Agent (you) submit a sales pitch presentation, pitching their clients specific style of art. You will need to be as convincing as possible, clearly and persuasively demonstrating what makes your clients style of art the best choice.
Of course, youll need to cover the basics: What makes this style of art so exciting? What makes it different and sets it apart? How and when did this style develop? What were the driving factors in its creation? Was it a reaction to any previous styles? Did it influence any future ones? What are this styles distinguishing features? What makes it what it is? And, most importantly, why should the collector buy this style of art for his museum?
But that wont be enough. To really convince the collector, you will need to break out the big guns and highlight some of your all-star artist clientele. After all, this is why they pay you, right? Each Art Agent will have two all-star artists and their works to use for their sales pitch; however, budgets are tight, so each agent will be limited to using only one painting from each of your All star Artist Clents. The available paintings to choose form are listed in your inventory. Choose wisely: Pick the paintings that best represent the style you are trying to sell!
Keep in mind that, ultimately, you are trying to sell the style of art rather than the artists themselves. The artists and their paintings are tools to help you achieve this. For each painting, be sure to highlight the characteristics that make it such a compelling example of your agencys assigned style. You will need to analyze each painting carefully for the use of certain formal elements, such as color, line, texture, and space, or for particular subject matter or themes common to your style. Some background on your all-star artists may help too, but dont get too distracted by their life stories. The collector prefers art to biography! Hes an educated consumer, so youll need to know your stuff. Be sure to focus as much on substance as style. Youll need both of these baits to reel in this big fish.
This brief sales video is your only chance to convince the collector to invest in your clients style of art, so keep it exciting. You have many options: Interview the artists, create a charismatic character to act as a spokesperson, study some advertising tactics, and above all else: Be creative. Be convincing.

Required Sources: You must use at least one museum website that discusses one of your paintings and your artist.
