Guidelines: Identify the Essay first with a title (ex. Cold War Rhetoric and then type the essay underneath). Your essay must include a proper introduction, enough body points to prove/support your position with document evidence (from these documents only), and a proper conclusion. Single space-but double space between essay paragraphs. The essay must be at least 5 paragraphs and you must use at least 5 of these documents to support your position (and your choices must represent arguments over time-not just the early cold war).
Your introduction must include a clear thesis statement answering this position question which adds in the preview information of why (ex. The cold war rhetoric of the West argued thatbecauseand I conclude that these arguments were or were not).
Your essay must include enough body paragraphs to prove/support your thesis with document evidence. Because you are using specifically assigned documents A-I, you do not need to formally cite or have a formal bibliography/work cited page for this writing assignment. You may simply reference your specific document support by mentioning it (ex. According to Document A or One main argument that Truman makes isas stated in the The Truman Doctrine Document C.).
Remember, your essay must include a proper conclusion which includes a reminder of your thesis statement.
Format: Typed Word document, Times New Roman 12 pt. font and regular 1-inch margins, Single Space-except double space between essay paragraphs (similar to how this guideline document is spaced). Do NOT include a cover page (so NO cover page). At the very top of page one of your assignment document, simply type your Name, Date, and 1122 Writing Assignment 3: Cold War Rhetoric. Include page numbers for this assignment (ex. set this up with the Page Number or Header or Footer function-click on the Insert tab and you will see the button for Page Number or Header or Footerex. I used Page number and selected the top right corner and then I clicked on the different first page function so this document begins with labeling p.2).
