Write a paper that involves the examination of a political system outside of the United States. Your paper must be 4-7 pages in length (10-12 point font), double-spaced. It must be written in a standard format with an introduction, body and conclusion. For those students interested in extra credit (a potential 15 points extra) they can complete a most similar or most different comparative analysis of two or more countries. Your case study must address the following questions:
-How would you characterize your countrys political regime? Why have you come to this conclusion? (you must offer at least three reasons to support your judgment).
-What has been the most pressing issue confronting the country since 2010? Why? How has the government addressed the issue? Does the issue highlight support for a specific explanation of political behavior (see the readings assigned in Week 1 and 2 of the semester)? Are the central actors associated with the issue consistent with the expectations of pluralist OR elite theories? (see the readings assigned on week 1 and 2) Explain. This is a central part of your paper. You must specifically argue how your case study presents support for a specific explanation/theory. Alternatively, you can make an argument that your case study highlights the inapplicability of a specific explanation/theory.
