Part 1 requires you to meet learning outcome 1 – Illustrate a critical awareness of the relationship between citizen, professional and state in relation to behaviour change .Steps you must follow:1. Identify the behaviour from the persons perspective (citizens) e.g. I like smoking2. Explain the response from the professional e.g. smoking is bad for your health3. Identify what the state does to support the professional to change the persons behaviour e.g. No smoking in workplace, increased tax etc4. Learning outcome 2 – Demonstrate an awareness of social psychology, psychological theories and behavioural economics in relationship to public health5. Within this section you will discuss some of the theories relating to PH and behaviour change. Provide a brief discussion of at least 2 behaviour change and apply 3 different theories of change.6. For each theory you should:7. Provide an overview of the theory8. What experiments they did for the theory9. Why the theory is important in practice and for understanding of behaviour change For the behaviours explain why some people are more resistant to change than others? What exactly is dissonance?For the theories you should compare theories against one another and look at the strengths and weaknesses of the theories.For example, you could look at the weaknesses of Skinners theory of operant conditioning. Is it too simplistic? Why?You could also look at theories we have not looked at in the sessions too.Learning outcome 3 – Critically explore health campaigns and health and well-being initiativesWhat works well? What is not so good? How do you know they are effective? Who are they targeting? Why are they needed? How do we know this?For the campaigns you should say why some are more effective than others?
