Faith and reason

Student will write a 2000-word essay that should primarily describe the relationship between faith and reason. As a secondary focus, the essay should address how that relationship between faith and reason impacts the question ‘Is it reasonable to have faith in God?’.

The essay must have an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement.

The main body of the essay should examine the merits of the each of the arguments put forth in the course modules, identifying strengths and weaknesses, before transitioning to the next argument.

The main body of the essay should define your understanding of the relationship between faith and reason, in leu of the arguments already presented.
A concluding paragraph must give a brief recap of how the paper addressed the thesis statement.
An excellent paper will use some of the concepts from Module One (the structure of an argument – claim, supportive points, evidence) or (the types of reason – deductive, inductive, abductive, and the types of faith – natural, supernatural) or (ways of knowing – tenacity, authority, science, intuition) to assess each of the other arguments as well as your own conclusion. You should not try to use all these concepts. Pick one set and use it throughout the essay.

APA style is required, with special attention given to in-text citations and the reference page. Do include a title page. Do not write an abstract.
