Democratic states predominately use one of three mechanisms to elect members of the legislature: “winner take all”/simple plurality/majoritarian, proportional representation, or mixed/hybrid/semi-proportional/alternative member model. Describe how each works, and then make an argument, from a democratic perspective, as to which is the “best” model of electing members of the legislature.
This is a normative position! In arguing why you selected the “best” model (based in course concepts such as democratic theory), indicate the weaknesses of the other two methods.
