He also posted a copy of this poster in his office window.At around 8am on Christmas Eve (24th December), Charlie Dickens is enjoying a walk around Lincolns Inn Fields. He finds a dog chewing on a tatty looking book. Charlie tried to take the book from the dog, but the dog thought this was a game and accidentally injured Charlies hand. Charlie finally rescued the book from the dog and abandoned his festive walk to tend to his bitten hand. There was an address embossed on the tatty book and Charlie walked to the address to return it. While walking Charlie sees the reward poster on a lamppost, but when Charlie reaches Mr. Scrooges office and returns the book, he declines to give Charlie the reward. Charlie receives nothing for finding the book, despite the fact that he had abandoned his walk and rescued it from a dog, incurring an injury in the process.Bob sees the aforementioned reward poster on a lamp post. Bob feels sorry for Mr. Scrooge, so he decides to abandon his plans for the morning and begins looking for the items. Alas he was unsuccessful and at lunchtime he went to meet his family for the afternoon, but when he was walking home at 17:30 he noticed a small object glinting amongst the leaves, he recognised it to be the missing fountain pen. Bob picks up the pen and because he is so tired decides to take it back to Mr. Scrooge on Christmas Day (25th December).At 9pm on Christmas Eve Mr. Scrooge decides to take down the posters from the lampposts and from his office window, concluding that he would never see his fountain pen again and anyway he did not want to give anyone a reward even if they did return the item. At 10am on Christmas Day Bob returns the fountain pen to Mr. Scrooge, who again declines to provide any reward.
