During your professional career you will need to remain updated on current evidence in your practice. The most thorough manner to do this is to evaluate research articles. However, you may not always have time to read every journal article. Instead, you may read the abstract provided by the researcher that provides an overview of the study. It is important that you recognize that the abstract cannot include all the details or results from the study and is typically what the researcher wants you to know but not necessarily all you NEED to know. Ideally, if a study is important for your practice, you will continue to read the rest of the full article. You will be asked to identify certain elements of the study and make a determination regarding the results. The number of elements will increase as the course progresses. For this week’s assignment, download and review the Abstract Quick Review Week 1 template, the abstract, and the full article. Save the template to your computer, then fill in the blanks using information from the abstract and article. Save a new copy and upload it to this assignment link. Below are a few helpful tips to help you complete the assignment: Review all of this week’s resources before submitting the Abstract Quick Review. It’s best to familiarize yourself with the concepts first so that you are able to understand the article.Use the full article for this week’s abstract to supplement your understanding of the abstract. Read the abstract first to determine your level of understanding of the various elements of the study, and refer to full article when necessary to answer the questions in the template.
