For this assignment, I needed to review one of the items found in this weeks study materials. Section 3: Defining and Analyzing the Problem, from Chapter 17: Analyzing Community Problems and Solutions, located on the Community Tool Box website, was very helpful. According to the Community Tool Box (n.d.), a poorly defined problem, or a problem whose nuances you don’t completely understand, is much more difficult to solve than a problem you have clearly defined and analyzed. The website also provided examples of useful problem statements. A review of past discussion responses and posts seemed prudent. There are many components to my policy analysis. Mental health, terrorism, and education are all fundamental components of my problem statement. Since I used additional resource materials to help with my chosen topic, I have decided to include them in my policy analysis assignment as well.
Problem Statement: Terrorism, aside from bullying, bigotry, and harassment, has a huge impact on mental health wellness, and well-being; including, but not limited to, serenity, tolerance, and discretion.
