Article Presentation: Each student will be responsible for leading one class discussion based on an assigned peer-reviewed journal article related to ethics within ABA. The purpose of the presentation is to further discussion and ethical understanding beyond what may be covered through the course lectures. Students should provide a summary of the article, as well as key components, and identify ethical concerns and any related ethical codes. As critical thinking is the primary focus of this assignment, students should encourage class questions, discussion, and debate throughout the presentation (e.g., through class questions, activities, or role-play). A PowerPoint (or similar) must be submitted prior to your assigned date and time of presentation. Failure to submit a PowerPoint (or similar) will result in an automatic 25% grade reduction. You may choose to present on a supplemental article. Outside articles must be approved by the instructor. Failure to secure approval of the alternative outside article will result in an automatic 10% grade reduction. Each presentation is worth 50 points based on the following grading rubric:
Criteria:
Leader provided a thorough synopsis of the provided article.
Leader included reference to pertinent ethics codes and explained why each is relevant to the provided article.
Leader addressed how the article might relate to/inform the current behavior analytic environment and the ethical practice of behavior analysis.
