Students will write a 3-4 page paper to demonstrate an understanding of the organization and structure of their school district.
Students should:
1. Identify the school districts mission and vision.
2. Identify the population the district serves.
3. Describe the school districts structure and design.
4. Assess the school districts partners, referral sources and community linkages.
5. Assess the school districts funding sources.
6. Consider how services are mediated by policy and its implementation at federal, state, and local levels [Competency Va.]
7. Describe how the district evaluates the impact/effectiveness of its programs and services. Consider how the district could strengthen the evaluation process.
8. Describe the districts culture and working environment.
9. If possible, assess the districts budget or finances. If not possible, explain the students efforts to collect information regarding the budget/finances.
