The module is called Blood Sciences. It is a medical case study, which has two questions, part a and b, to answer based on the information provided about the patient. Total marks are out of 100, and has a word limit of 1500 words.Please could you make sure to use correct scientific terminology and read the “instructions for authors” section on the second page of the word document that has the case study question on it. Could each point made be described in detail, and any pathway spoken about explained clearly, as it is my second attempt at this paper and I would really like it to be within the higher grades.I have included a powerpoint which I made up from the lectures I was given about the information I think that could be included, however please make sure to look in the bottom notes section for the references to include them in the task as well. The references should not be more than 10 years old please, as older papers will result in marks being dropped. The way in which I was told to answer the questions was: focus on key points, look at variable for abnormality and come up with conditions/reasons why they are high. Identify if the disorder is hormonal, drug or infectious – then link to how the disorder is pathological and physiological. List them, and explain mechanisms why it has went wrong. What is meant to happen normally and what has happened in this instance, with clinical and haematology knowledge. Then say what you would expect. If a diagram is going to be used, make one yourself do not take one from google. Put at the beginning of answer, base discussion around that for mechanism. Do not go through all the mechanisms in detail, only the part that applies to the questions as the word count is limited to 1500 words.
