I have always thought that health care should be a right, but it is, in fact, a luxury. It is a luxury because the people who can afford health care have access to today’s medical tools to help prevent any illness or disease. Watching the TED talk made me realize that Dr. Sammour was right about United States healthcare and how it is an expensive luxury to have. If people can not afford this luxury, it is challenging for them to pay their medical bills and medication bills due to the lack of healthcare insurance. The people who can’t even apply for some coverage put them in the place of choosing debt or their life.

I think that Dr. Sammour’s suggestions for a better health care system are realistic. He gave many ways to change healthcare and lower the cost for those who can not afford it. Having the government cover a small amount could effectively lower healthcare costs but raise the amount of taxes. His ideas could help lower healthcare costs and give others an equal chance to be provided healthcare.

Healthcare is so important to prevent illness, but there are so many side effects to everything. Medication can be very addictive and can change a person completely. I think that healthcare revolves around this and is always constantly trying to sell prescription drugs to fix the problem without considering the side effects. If healthcare drug administrators realized the effect of the medication they are providing, health care could also help change the price for everyone.

I believe that health care is a luxury and should be a right. After watching the TedTalk I saw that health care is truly a luxury. It is sometimes hard to believe that people who are in need of medical attention may not receive it because of the cost. Dr.Sammour had a lot of valid points, pointing out how the system is not equal for everybody. He had valid points on how jobs are a factor if you have good or poor health care. In my opinion, people should receive healthcare without their financial situation worrying them.

Dr.Sammours suggestions for a better health care system were realistic. The options that he laid out were, people paying for health care with a shared public system which would be funded through taxes. The second option was through a private system where people pay for the health care they need. These suggestions are somewhere to start, it would indeed bring down the cost of health care.

This ted talk was very eye-opening and had a lot of helpful information helping me understand how the health care system works. He layed out a lot of information comparing and contrasting and giving a lot of valid points. I also liked how he did his research on other countries to give us more knowledge.
