“The dangers of faction discussed in James Madisons work are very similar to many topics in todays society. Society is split into two main factions, republican or democratic political parties. James Madison discusses the many causes of faction, however, points to the most common cause to be the unequal distribution of property. This is still common in todays society as main topics between left wing and right wing political parties. Left wing politics normally want to raise taxes on the wealthy in hopes to create a more even distribution of wealth. As the role of central government is to oversee national defense and protect the rights of citizens, the Federalist papers advocate to protect the state levels of government and deal with regional issues.—As Madison points to this to create a happy combination. One example of this in todays society is what has caused many people living in California to leave the state and move to Texas. The high taxes, cost of living, and non-affordable housing are among the largest reasons why citizens are currently fleeing California. We are fortunate to live in a federal democratic republic; where the people govern themselves, but it is republic because the people choose elected officials. This is the important foundation our founding fathers put together in the constitution to protect our freedoms and certain rights. It was very insightful for our founding fathers and to protect our rights as far back as 1787. Madisons perspective for the solution of factions to therefore be factions, as multiple factions keep one another from becoming too powerful.”
