The criteria for the Annotated Bibliography are as follows:
The Annotated Bibliography must include the following types of current (within the last 5 years), peer-reviewed journal articles:
One article should provide information about the characteristics of the problem/issue that is the focus of your Capstone project (concept analysis, literature review, commentary, etc.);
Three articles must be qualitative research (grounded theory, phenomenology/lived experience, meta-synthesis, qualitative case study, etc.) that speaks directly to the problem/issue that is the focus of your Capstone project;
Four articles must be quantitative research (experimental, quasi-experimental, descriptive, correlational, meta-analysis, etc.) that speaks directly to the problem/issue that is the focus of your Capstone project;
One must address the social determinants of health that contribute to problem/issue that is the focus of your Capstone project;
One should address a cultural dimension/issue associated with the problem/issue that is the focus of your Capstone project.
The references in the Annotated Bibliography must be organized as follows:
Background Information
This section will contain 3 non-research articles: the informational article, the article related to the social determinants of health, and the article addressing a cultural/ethnic issue related to your project topic.
Cite each article in APA format.
Follow each article with a concise summary that does not exceed 200 words. Identify the type of article (concept analysis, literature review, commentary, informational, social determinants of health, culture, etc.) in one sentence. Then address the following in one sentence each: overview/scope of the article, main argument of the article, conclusions made by the author(s), strengths/weaknesses of the article, and the articles relevance/usefulness to your project.
Quantitative Research
This section will contain 4 quantitative research articles.
Cite each article in APA format.
Follow each research article with a concise summary that does not exceed 200 words. Identify the type of quantitative research (experimental, quasi-experimental, descriptive, correlational, meta-analysis, etc.) in one sentence. Then address the following in one sentence each: introduction, purpose of the research and the data collection methods used, scope of the research, research findings, limitations of the study, conclusions/recommendations for further research, and the studys usefulness/relevance to your project.
Qualitative Research
This section will contain 3 qualitative research articles.
Cite each article in APA format.
Follow each research article with a concise summary that does not exceed 200 words. Identify the type of qualitative research (grounded theory, phenomenology/lived experience, meta-synthesis, qualitative case study, etc.) in one sentence.
