What point(s) is/are the authors trying to make in this editorial?

This assignment will allow you to apply the knowledge you gained throughout the Module 11 reading and lecture.

As you learned in this module (and in Module 10), randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are the gold standard in research. Currently, many RCTs are being conducted to determine the effectiveness of potential treatments for the novel coronavirus. For this assignment, read this editorial (https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2765696) and then answer the following questions:
1) What point(s) is/are the authors trying to make in this editorial?
2) Based on what you have learned about RCTs, were you surprised to read about potential weaknesses of RCTs that are currently being conducted on COVID-19? If so, what did you find most surprising?
3) The authors recommend the sharing of patient data. Given what we discussed during Module 3 on ethics, do you agree with this?
4) How would you recommend sharing the findings of RCTs with the general public?

This assignment is worth 40 points (see rubric below) and focuses on MLO1 3..

Students are expected to use professional tone/language, as well as proper spelling, grammar, and mechanics. Your responses should be saved as a Microsoft Word document.
