USE 7TH APA STUDENT EDITION!!!
Part 1:
You have learned that the death penalty is reserved for the “worst of the worst” and is limited to the sphere of capital crimes. In your own words, explain the phrase “worst of the worst” and what it means within the context of the death penalty. Examine how the Supreme Court’s position on this ultimate sanction has evolved over the years and identify any legal precautions and safeguards that now exist to ensure the death sentence is not arbitrarily imposed. Finally, take a position on the death sentence and while providing arguments that support your position, recognize as well, any counter-arguments to your position.
Assignment tip:Please incorporate into your response, the two Supreme Court cases that speak specially to the legality of the Death Penalty – Furman v Georgia and Gregg v. Georgia. You should also integrate supporting data from this lesson’s embedded video clips and the written content contained in “Approaching the Objectives.”
