1. Write an analytical compare and contrast essay in which you will analyze the literary
movements and works discussed in class. DO NOT summarize the works or the
information provided in the PPT presentations. (10pts)
2. Make sure that the following paragraphs are easily identifiable:
a. Introduction: First paragraph, begin by briefly stating what you will be presenting
in your essay. Must include a thesis statement that is underlined. (10pts)
b. Body: The first two body paragraphs must contain at least one quote from any of
the texts discussed in class.
– Paragraph #1: Romanticism (10pts)
– Paragraph #2: Naturalism and Realism (10pts)
– Paragraph #3: Comparison between both (10pts)
c. Conclusion: Last paragraph, summarize your essay and highlight some of the
concepts used throughout the body of your essay. (10pts)
3. Include a works cited page with a minimum of two (2) sources: Must follow the
guidelines established in the MLA PPT posted on Google Classroom. (10pts)
4. Include in-text citations. Must follow the guidelines established in the MLA PPT
posted on Google Classroom. (10pts)
5. Length: 800-1000 words (5pts)
6. Format: MLA (10pts)
7. Proper grammar usage no more than 10 errors (5pts)
8. Essay MUST be submitted as a Word Document. Any essay in PDF format will not be
graded.
