The assessment tests your understanding by getting you to adopt the role of a management consultant, and apply theoretical Change tools and techniques to a real organization.
In the role of a management consultant, write an individual report on an organization of your choice that designs a recommended strategic change to the business. You need to recommend how the organization could improve based on your analysis of the context for change. You will form your design primarily using the main methods explained in the module, but may
find it useful to compare and contrast with other theory and models, or enhance the design with additional elements. You will not only plan your change, but explain and justify the reasoning behind the design.
You are encouraged to base your Change design in an organization you know well, such as your own organization, one from a previous job, or a client or supplier you work with.
If you are concerned about using/discussing potentially commercially sensitive material from an organization you know personally, then you may wish to use a different business name in order to anonymize your case example
Please follow the steps below.
1. Select an organization that interests you
2. Give a brief history of the organization, setting out its context, why it needs to change, and the change (improvement) that you are designing;
3. Evaluate the change context and design choices using the
Kaleidoscope framework. Discuss an appropriate change leadership style given the outcome of the Kaleidoscope and cultural paradigm;
4. Recommend how the organization could improve and how it will
benefit from change. Reflect on difficulties of the implementation
process and discuss how they may be overcome;
5. Cite your academic (journal articles, books) and practitioner (internal organizational documents, external reports eg newspaper articles) references professionally
