Conduct research to identify a peer-reviewed journal article pertaining to topics related to maternal and child health issues. Students are expected to submit a written summary in the appropriate Dropbox in eLearn and share their findings in class if requested to do so by the professor. After you conduct your research and locate the peer-reviewed journal article, summarize your findings using at least 200-500 words. Your article summary should contain the following headings. I.Summary of findings.Problems AssociatedIII.Actual ResolutionIV.Reaction, Solution, or Recommendation (This section is your opinion.)Observe the following stipulations:1. You must select the article from a peer-reviewed journal and NOT a magazine or newsletter pertaining to the topic requested by the professor. 2.Type summaries using Microsoft Word, 12-pitch font Times New Roman, Arial, or Courier.3.Use 1 margins (top, bottom, right, and left).4. Indent the first line of each paragraph in five spaces.5.The double-space entire document, including reference.6.Place your name, date, and course information flush right hand in the top corner.7.Do not use contractions such as dont, isnt, arent, havent, etc.8.Do not begin sentences with There is or are, It is, They are, These are, This is. You may use This is followed by a noun. For example This study, This project.9.You must have at least 3-5 sentences to constitute a paragraph.10.Do not use abbreviations unless you spell out the item first. Example: Health Sciences (HLSC).11.If you need a second page, your name, page number, and date should be typed flush right hand in the top corner.12.The article reference information should be typed at the top of the page in the correct format.13.Attach a copy of the article abstract as a separate file. In other words, you should attach the summary as the first attachment and the article abstract as the second attachment in Dropbox.14.Make sure you have no orphaned or widowed sentences. Orphan/widow is a term used for one sentence which stands alone at the bottom or top of the page. The best way to combat the orphan sentences is to insert a page break.15.Insert page numbers at the bottom center of each page.1
16.Summaries should not exceed two pages, and you must write a minimum of 200 words to a maximum of 500 words. 17. Your summary should not be a conglomeration of direct quotes. Try to a summary as much of the article in your own words and paraphrase instead of using direct quotes. 18. Spell numbers zero to nine out and use numbers for 10 and above.19.Write in the third person and not first person (no I, me, my, mine, etc).20.
