A brief discussion of the rationale for the action or decision made by the company. Was there any motive other than self-interest? Was the action or decision the product of deliberation or debate? Assignment
Review and adhere to the Common Requirements for Papers section of the syllabus
The paper should be approximately 3-4 pages single spaced.
The paper should include the following:
1. A very brief description of the company.
2. A brief description of the legal or ethical issue, dilemma or problem that is to be analyzed.
3. A brief discussion of the decision or action actually taken by the company and any reaction in the public or press to the decision or action and the effects (or potential effects) on various stakeholders of the company.
4. A brief discussion of the rationale for the action or decision made by the company. Was there any motive other than self-interest? Was the action or decision the product of deliberation or debate? Does the company have a corporate code of ethics or compliance code? Does this code (if any) seem to have been consulted? Does the action or decision seem to be consistent with the code?
5. If the issue is an ethical issue, your analysis must include an examination of the decision in light of at least two of the following ethical principles discussed in Business Ethics:
Utilitarianism or Rule Utilitarianism
Rights or Kants Categorical Imperative
Rawls Principles of Justice and Fairness
Ethic of Care
If the issue is a legal issue, you must analyze the issue using material discussed in Legal Environment of Business Law.
You should consult various sources, such as your supervisor, companys, industrys, and/or competitors literature, and various textbooks (at least one textbook is required). You should provide appropriate documentation of sources you use and/ or quote.

Advice for producing a good paper
Make sure that you narrowly focus your paper and look at a single legal or ethical issue. This may be difficult at first because legal or ethical problems dont often come in isolationbut 3-4 pages does not give you enough canvas to explore lots of issues. For example, you dont want a paper on the legal or ethical issues at Enron. Whole books have just scratched the surface of the problems there.
Beware of leaping to broad, unsupported conclusions such as: my supervisor is a scumbag. A good legal or ethical analysis should make it clear what legal or ethical principle you are applying (and make sure that you clearly define the principle), what reliable, relevant facts you are relying on in making your judgment and what your ultimate judgment would be regarding a legally or ethically appropriate decision or course of action (which may be in contrast to what was actually decided or done).

Context: this is for an internship class. I am working in currently working in the Marketing athletics department of a Division 1 school called Butler University. My responsibility is to market butler basketball through their social media accounts. an ethical issue I recognized is whether or not butler should allow fans at their games during this pandemic. they have decided to allow 25% capacity of fans at butler games. the ethical dilemma is the safety of fans and the money being lost from ticket sale. please Let me know if you have any questions.
