A data analysis technique that I would propose to use for my capstone project would be the regression model. This model is a way of mathematically sorting out which of the variables have an impact on the overall goal of the project (Gallo, 2015). Independent variables, or factors, impact the dependent variable, or the main factor you are trying to predict (Gallo, 2015). For my capstone project, I am trying to understand why certain individuals choose not to participate in immunizations and protect themselves and their families against vaccine-preventable diseases. The reason to choose this data analysis technique would be to collect data which can then be sorted to figure out which factors play larger roles in making the decision to vaccinate or not. Once factors are decided, education material can then be created to best meet the needs of those factors.
