Alexandra’s Post: As a nurse executive, I feel that the most important part of managing APNs in my practice setting is to allow for open communication, understanding and patience among the advanced practice nurses. Nurse managers play a noteworthy part in emphatically and adversely impacting trust inside health service organizations (McCabe, 2019). Building rapport among APNs is important in gaining an ability to understanding, trust and support which is important when building a strong healthcare team.

An organizational chart will be beneficial and helpful in enhancing collaboration among team members through reflexivity by becoming more self-aware of what team members can handle and what they cannot. It will also give us awareness on personalities and how to work collaboratively.

Facilitating staff nurses acceptance and understanding of the APN role would be done by developing a good relationship between staff and an ability for them to trust you. Listening and understanding when they address certain problems that they are facing with you is an important part of making them feel accepted. Allowing for them to open up to you about any problems that they are facing will give them the ability for them to feel understood.
