Paper Guidelines for Literature Section

This paper is an opportunity to explore the current literature and examine the latest evidence about your topic of interest that supports the CAM intervention you are interested in writing about. Examine the current literature (published within the past five years; if the literature is truly scant on the topic, ask your instructor for permission to search older literature as far back as 10 years). Locate three research articles (level of evidence I, II, or III) that pertain to your topic, ensuring that you can make a logical argument for the use of the intervention. All articles must be from a peer-reviewed journal, one should be a nursing journal. Use the literature table provided in the paper template appendix (fill this out and include it in the paper as an appendix, as it is presented in the template) and use this information to write up a narrative critique of the article. Also, use the "Quality rating scheme" checklist to assess and discuss the articles' quality in a narrative, which will justify your conclusions as to supporting the value of the study for your topic; address the strength of the study design, the study results, study conclusions, and pertinent study findings, using this form as a guide. Use the information from the checklist to write up the narrative. Submit your completed checklist and articles along with your narrative write up and literature tables in the appendix of your paper.

Submit the Paper
Be mindful that the paper is due by 1700 on the specified due date. Students are expected to submit the final paper to Safe Assign via Black Board. Please, refer to the syllabus for the schools policy regarding late submission of assigned work. There is a draft Safe Assign site on Black Board for you to submit your paper without the reference list so that you can assess the amount of material in your paper that is matching other sources. If the matching score of your final paper is greater than 20%, the paper will be reviewed for the possibility of plagiarism.

Student Presentation of Research Articles on Topic: Counts 10% of course grade.
