Sociology of mental illness and homelessness. how they are c0nnected from a sociological perspective. I want a strong thesis statement with a few topic sentences. Please be specific in the thesis about what will be talked about.
This is the outline for the essay. I chose homelessness as my topic:
Discuss a contemporary social justice issue related to mental
health in our society. This could be connected to the criminal justice system, health care policy,
homelessness, and housing, etc. A paper addressing these types of concerns must also consider the
implications of the issues in a social context.
This was my original theses and I received the following questions back from my teacher. (See below) :
Thesis:
Both homelessness and mental illnesses are, by causes and impacts, social issues in that they thrive on poor economic structures, addiction, underfunded social programs, and lack of support for the poor in society. These issues have far-reaching hardships for the people who suffer
Comments:
1) What do you mean by ‘poor economic structures’ and ‘poor support’?
2) Be sure to put addiction in a social context, though I am sure you are, I cannot tell just by the thesis alone.
If my originally thesis could be reworked into a better, more clear thesis that would be great.
