Hinduism – Pluralism project, Harvard University
After reading the source closely, write a brief (500 word) response that includes both a summary and an evaluation of the source. This should be done in a traditional essay format and should use the following paragraph structure:
Author and title of the source at the very top.
A brief summary of the source in your own words. This should be about 250 words long. Focus on the main ideas, but also include the major supports for these ideas. Try not comment or evaluate the source here. Make sure that you are summarizing it in the way that you would describe it, and do NOT copy summaries from other online resources or from the abstract of the article or chapter.
A brief evaluation of the source. This response should be about 250 words long. How well or poorly does the reading convey the content/subject matter? What specific insight(s) did you gain from the reading? How did it enrich, challenge, or build on your understanding of religion? If necessary you may quote the article in your response, but remember to enclose the quote within quotation marks.
