Background
The last chapter in the textbook, Preparing for the Future examines some areas of challenges in diversity consciousness. Some of these include but are not restricted to immigration, gender, sexual orientation, technological, social, economic, religious, politics, and generational overlaps.
While most of the information in Chapter 9 is still applicable, some recent changes (e.g., terrorism, pandemics, U.S. policies, latest technological advances, etc.) have additional implications on these topics.
The purpose of Mini-Project #2 is to update and broaden your scope beyond what you have read in this chapter, apply concepts in real-world situations, and discuss the implications in health care and the business environment.
For this project, you will be using your topic and its current and potential impact on diversity consciousness in the workplace and business environment. Remember to select one future challenge, rather than try and discuss several topics.
Instructions
Find five sources that address one or more aspects of your selected topic. You may use one news source for background information. Include at least two journal articles. The news source should not be older than December 2020. Use journal sources with a publication date of 2015 or later.
1) Provide a title page with your name, title of mini-project, course information and date. Use a plain background (no text boxes or images), black font (Times New Romans, 12 point) [2 points].
2) Provide an introduction section and your thesis statement (half a page minimum). Make sure that at the end of this section, the reader is clear on your future challenge of choice and why your topic is important in health care and the workplace. Include one or more citations to buttress your point. Also include relevant statistics (cited) [6 points].
3) Using the sources, please provide a detailed summary of the background of the issue. Use the textbook to integrate the relevant concepts (textbook in-text citations should include page numbers). At least three of your five sources should be used in this section and should be cited. This section should be at least one page. Please note that the section should flow as a narrative and should be organized by main points, rather than separate summaries of your sources [16 points].
4) Discuss any possible resolution(s) of the issue you are discussing. If there are already steps in place to address the issue(s), please indicate that. Include implications for the health care and/or business. This section should be half a page (minimum) [6 points].
5) What are your opinions? You may integrate your experiences on the matter (if any). Please be analytical in your approach. This section should be 2-4 paragraphs [5 points].
6) Have a conclusion section that sums up your overall learning experiences in this course and the take-home message for your reader. This section should be a minimum of two paragraphs [4 points].
7). Please provide a reference list of your sources in APA Referencing Style (7th edition) [6 points].
8) Organization/editing, subheadings, & paragraphs [5 points].
9) Miscellaneous [You may lose up to -10 points if not addressed].
Minimum page length (excluding cover page and references) (2.5 pages).
Use double-line spacing, Times New Romans black font (12-point) and one-inch margins.
Your paragraphs should be indented, with no additional spaces between sentences.
Include subheadings corresponding to the required components–that would help organize your work and make it easier to grade.
