The goal of this paper is to present at least two perspectives on a current social issue facing a society. You will provide some background on the social problem/dilemma itself and then present at least two different opinions as to the source and/or desired outcomes of this social issue. You are not trying to persuade the reader that one position is superior to or more correct than another, but rather to try to articulate whatever the underlying logic of each side in the debate appears to be even if it does not make sense to you. Expectations for this paper will be further clarified in lecture.
This paper should use secondary sources that are academic in nature. This includes scholarly books, journal articles, or news sources from bona fide news agencies that maintain a relatively neutral political stance and provide minimal entertainment content.[1] Online encyclopedias, blogs, etc. cannot be cited as sources.
