Using that information, you are expected to identify an under-or un-studied topic within the broader field as the topic of the pre-proposal. The pre-proposal then provides an opportunity to begin developing a research plan to address that topic.

Does the preproposal identify method(s)/technique(s) to address the identified gap in the literature? Has the student identified an approach to the problem that could reasonably address the topic?

Identifies information that will be gained through the approach described
What information/outcome would the approach described provides? How does that address the chosen topic?
Addresses potential flaws, difficulties, or drawbacks of the approach
Are there possible points at which the approach could fail? Is there an alternative method(s)/technique(s) that could be employed?
