This is a discussion post for a public health course. I have attached the referenced article. Use as many sources needed.
OVERVIEW
Diffusion of innovations (DOI) is a framework which has its root in rural health, where more emphasis on marketing is required in introducing new health behaviors or technologies. It is based on five processes: Innovation Development, Dissemination, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance. Dissemination is, perhaps, the most important process in this model which is affected by both the population (diffusion context) and the product (product attributes). It is also important to consider context and attribute when considering the categories of adopters (innovators, early adopters, early majority adopters, late majority adopters, and laggards), e.g. you want people of influence to be among the innovators and should plan accordingly.
Please read the review article on the use of DOI in developing physical activity interventions in children and adolescents download. Specifically, read about their strengths and limitations. Your task is to plan your own intervention by using lessons learned from these methods. Make a 5-point list of what you will do.
