For your final paper, you will write a Literary Analysis Paper. You will select two poems and using one of the literary critical lenses discussed in class, you will analyze the two poems, establishing a thesis and using the poems as your primary evidence. You can include other sources, but you must use at least two of the poems. This paper will be 6-8 pages, MLA formatted, with a readable fon. For this type of paper, you want to ask certain questions:
Choose the type of literary criticism that you want to use for your paper.
Identify the poems that you want to analyze. Ask yourself, what theme are illustrated in your choice of poems and how do you interpret the poem? Please make sure that you can provide evidence from the poem or other criticisms to support your interpretation.
Think of the characters, tone, setting, rhythm, imagery, etc. as devices or tools that help ensure that the reader “gets” the meaning that the writer intended him or her to learn.
Ask yourself, why did the author choose to use these devices, in theseparticular ways? How does this poem using a type of structure, imagery or narrative form help the reader understand the theme?

In this paper, you must include the following:
A focus/thesis that you create from two of the poems or play that we have read and discussed,
One of the critical lenses that we have reviewed,
A discussion on the structure, rhyme and meter of the poems,
At least one theme and two literary devices found in the poems,
And three outside sources that discusses the poems, poets or both.
