Student Debt

Final Research Essay#4:
For our final research project, we will be collectively investigating the state of American
capitalism/global capitalism. Choose one phenomenon that is influencing the current state of
American capitalism and discuss it in a paper that traces the origins, present status, and projected
future of that issue. Some options include:
The gig economy
Labor unions
The wage gap
Income and/or wealth inequality
The perpetuation of global slavery
Race and economic discrimination
Monopolization
Privacy/corporations gathering, selling, etc. consumer data
The minimum wage
Student debt
The housing crisis
Climate change
Health insurance
Once you have selected your issue, you will research and write an expository essay examining
that issue and its relationship to the past, present and potentially future of American capitalism.
Your research question might be something like:
What does ______________________show us about the state of American capitalism?
OR
How does/is/will___________________________ impact American capitalism?
