In my opinion, networking can be a very fine line to walk because you want to promote yourself, but you do not want to turn away people who could potentially hire you. In my own life, I tend to keep social media sites like Facebook and Instagram very private so that I can express myself and other sites like LinkedIn as minimal as possible to stay professional. I have heard many horror stories where someone does not get hired because their “digital dirt” from Facebook is open for all to see (Reardon et al., 2019). How do you keep these various platforms separated, or do you feel they are best used when synced?
