thesis: People who own an Android phone are no different in socioeconomic status than people who own an iPhone.
DISCUSS BOTH SIDES
Examples:
In todays society, most smartphone users are invested into the iOS system but as with other markets, there are outliers that use the competitors brand. iOS has mostly dominated the smartphone market, but Android still takes a share of the market because it offers its users different attributes. Many iPhone users have the idea or carry a stigma that Android users are lower in socio-economic status or cant afford to buy into the ecosystem, but for many that isnt true. Android users are really just like any other consumer of other products, they have started with a certain brand and stick with it due to it being easier to use and more accessible. In addition, as with any other product on the market, people tend to stick with devices that are more aligned to their personality traits. People who own an Android phone are no different in socioeconomic status than people who own an iPhone.
In your introduction, say plainly what you will do step by step. Your thesis statement is often the last line of the introduction.
Present the issue clearly and disinterestedly. You need not lose any passion but remember that an assertion is not true because it supports one’s point. It is not required that you ‘take a side’…many times the issue is complex.
Research and argue from a contrasting view point…try to present a strong argument that challenges your own point of view; avoid extremes.
Address the strengths and weaknesses of each side. This could include obstacles to your own position and demonstrate respect to the other point(s) of view.
Demonstrate the merits of your thesis statement in closing. Ask yourself if your argument is valid and sound (convincing).
Conclude by reiterating what you did and why your point is strongest.
