My research topic proposal:
For my research paper, I will be looking at the life of Malcolm X. I find Malcolm X’s story extremely interesting how he is considered by many to have been a great leader who fought for the rights of black men and women while others regard him as a racist and accuse him of promoting violence. I will research Malcolm Xs ability to influence people by spreading his opinions and how he overcame the obstacles of his early life and became an influential figure in the civil rights movement. For my research, I will be using books such as Malcolm: The Life of a Man Who Changed Black America by Bruce Perry (1991). And The Awakening of Malcolm X by Ilyasah Shabazz. Also, I will be using the autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X with Alex Haley. I hope to learn more about Malcolm Xs childhood and upbringing, what led him to become one of America’s most influential people of the 1960s followed by Dr. Martin Luther King
