Read the essay Watching Oprah from Behind the Veil by Jeff Jacoby, pp. 332-334 in the main textbook (the norton sampler). Write two paragraphs as a single essay one paragraph each discussing the following:
What obstacles do Saudi women face that Oprah did not, even though she grew up poor in pre-civil rights Mississippi (10)?
Does Jacoby rely more on the point-by-point or subject-by-subject method for organizing his comparison? Is this method of organization effective for this essay? Explain.

Supporting sentences are to be factual and specific. Your topic sentences should answer the questions in such a way as to reveal the questions. Paragraphs should include short (several-word or one-line) quotations followed by author and paragraph number.
