Create a learning source explaining one or more of the readings in a digestible way for the public
You must have a page of sources
(At least 4 slides and 5 minutes)
Questions to answer:
1) Why is this an important issue? Who do you think needs to know about it? Everyone? American public? Young people?
2) What do you think people should know about the subject?
3) What does history tell us about this issue?
4) What is your hook or why should people care?
5) What themes do you want people to remember about this issue?
You need to have visuals so please create a powerpoint presentation of at least 5 slides. After that you may add an additional essay explaining your points or you can speak them onto the canvas media space on here.
Two Methods as Examples:
1) Find an online exhibit(try Google Arts and Culture) and add your own commentary that you think is missing and explain how it improves the topic. You can add these comments on the powerpoint or with voice overs.
2) Create your own topic and add pictures that answers one of the following questions:
– How has food explained the history of Latin American in the past and today?
-How have gender and race changed over time in Latin America in ways that complicate our normal ways of looking at the past?
-Why is it important to study slavery in Latin America and what do we learn about the comparison with other European and American empires?
