Explain one of the weaknesses of the case I have made, one of the things you found unconvincing.

Module 2A is now open. There is a short lecture to prepare you for the reading. There is a reading from The Building Project and there are notes that accompany the reading. I suggest doing the reading first and then going over the notes before you take the quiz.
After you take the quiz, you should be ready to post your response to this week’s Question of the Week:
Some of you noticed that questions 2, 3, and 13 of the Preliminary Survey are related, though the survey results are somewhat inconsistent. Look at these:
Question 2 says,
Morality differs in every society, and is nothing more than a convenient term for socially approved habits. (roughly 46% agree/strongly agree)

Question 3 says,
The best guide to what is morally right or wrong is what ones culture believes (roughly 38% agree/strongly agree).

And question 13 says,
My culture is always right concerning moral issues (Only 5% agree. No one strongly agrees).

The issues indicated by these questions fall under the heading of Ethical Relativism, which I argue in this weeks reading, is an unacceptable moral theory. For this weeks Question of the Week, I want you to address the issue of whether Im successful in my attack on Ethical Relativism.

Either explain one of the virtues or strengths of the case I have made against ER, something you found convincing,

or

Explain one of the weaknesses of the case I have made, one of the things you found unconvincing.

Or answer this more sophisticated question:

How convincing is the case that I have made against Ethical Relativism overall? Can you think of anything that might weaken my case? Could I have made a stronger case against it?
