Developing an Instructional Unit/Lesson
This project will help you focus on the important concepts presented throughout the course. For this project, you will be expected to develop one teaching plan as part of an instructional unit on a subject of your choice in nursing in an undergraduate nursing program. The project will contain one teaching plan focused on students in a traditional face to face classroom, including adaptations required for the same lesson for students enrolled in an online course. Before developing the plan you will need to describe the learners (number in class, age groups with numbers in each group, learning styles), include a learner assessment, describe the educational setting, the purpose and rationale for the learners, the theoretical basis for the innovative teaching approaches used in the lesson. The plans should demonstrate a logical approach to teaching, list clearly the goals, objectives, measurable student learning outcomes, communicate what is to be taught and how, and outline how objectives are to be evaluated.
In part 1 of the teaching project you will write a paper including the following components:
Introduction:
Provide the title of the lesson.
Identify and describe the learners.
Include Learner Assessment: Diversity of learners, Age group, Learning Styles
Describe the educational setting: Address strategies that will be used for a traditional face to face course and how strategies will be adapted if the lesson was being taught online
Purpose and rationale for the lesson(s). Which course is it a part of? Please provide at least one course level objective that this lesson will pertain to.
Describe the philosophical or theoretical basis for teaching approaches used in the lesson.
An overview of the innovative teaching strategies selected and why they were chosen. A minimum of one strategy must be technology based: How the strategy will be adapted for teaching in an online course.
An overview of how learning will be measured and evaluated and include one key assessment (test questions, written paper, video recordings, etc). Explain why this method is to be used.
Support comments with evidence based examples from educational journal articles.
Include a references page, cite a minimum of 8 peer reviewed journal sources using APA format.

I am uncertain as to the actual number of pages this may take, as it only requires the information and the 8 references. I am choosing 4 but it may be less or more.
