much as we used to. You can give a brief overview of the Icarus story in your own words and even mention that Ovid is the original source.

To have the depth of exploration, it will be necessary to discuss the Icarus material separately. You have to make the comparisons where possible. It’s not enough to put things side by side. You need comparison & synthesis. Also be sure not to copy stuff unless it’s a direct quote. Except for direct quotes, the paper should sound like you. Important skill: comparative thinking. Its critical / creative thinking because we have to compare relative values. Just think about how often we compare two items, two events, the past and present, and more. If you dont compare when you can, then your paper will read like a few papers, rather than just one integrated paper. An integrated, well-written comparative essay has comparisons throughout. While the easy way is to have a little comparison in the first and last paragraphs, thats a limited essay. Integration and harmony are two qualities of an essay like a nicely designed tapestry or rug.
