An annotated bibliography must contain one monograph and two journal articles, one of the three texts must be an empirical study. Please do not include handbook or encyclopaedia entries or individual book chapters.
Complete bibliographical information (including – if relevant – the “publication history” = first date of publication, date of German translation, German title, etc.),
1. an indication of the type of text: monograph, collection of essays, journal article, contribution to an anthology, introductory work, textbook, reader etc.,
2. a brief summary of the content of the work as well as the basic assumptions, the method and the results (if empirical studies are involved),
3. a list of keywords.
4. Since an annotated bibliography is always compiled under a thematic focus, (a particular aspect) of the research interest, the annotations should also address the question of how the cited work can be classified under this thematic focus or aspect or question:
– What information can be found in it?
– What questions can the work help to answer?
– With regard to which theoretical or empirical problems is it productive / relevant?
5. It places the work in its thematic context. Which sub-area is dealt with? To which theoretical “school” does the author belong or to which school does he/she belong?
